      Richard Quinn’s passion for the golden years of Paris haute couture and colored English flower prints have been with him at least since he was a student at Central Saint Martins. His focus on gimp shows and latex first appeared in his M.A.None of those Quinn have gone away; in fact, ballooned to take up every unrestricted stretch in his world. And today that always means someplace big, high-ceilinged, and curtained, on a hierarchy that fits his dream to make a House of Quinn in London that contests for a multinational tradition like a Paris haute couture.

      This season the walls and rug were pink, and a central crystal ballroom chandelier flashed over an unfamiliar circular flower bed inside, where the English Chamber Orchestra smashed up the poignant strains of Adagio for Series. Out came the first looks of trapeze swing coats in Quinn’s friendly plate-scaled rose patterns in blue, yellow, and lime, with fitting large, wide hats.
